This past week, I attended Romance Writers of America's annual conference. A few thousand writers descended upon San Antonio, Texas for the event. Workshops and get-togethers serve to restore and renew the writer's soul. Spending time with my friends, making new friends and connections, and soaking up the awesome energy is such an inspiring experience.
Last year's conference was my first and on the first day, I met a newly published author who has since become a great friend. I also made a new friend while leaving the conference, en route to the airport.
This year, I experienced more of the same. I got to know several acquaintances better, met some lovely new people, and again, at the airports (both on the way to San Antonio and on the way home), I met fellow romance writers.
The romance community is a uniquely supportive and I'm so very grateful and glad to be a part of it.
