The writers of Romance Weekly are answering a season-appropriate question today: What are you thankful for?
If you're following along with the blog hop, you've joined me here from
Jami Denise's site. If you missed her, check out her post.
This year I am thankful for so many things:
I'm thankful for my wonderful husband. Superhero is always there for me, supporting me, encouraging me, making me laugh, making me coffee, making me want to be the best version of myself. In football terms - I traded up when I got him.
I'm thankful for my parents and siblings, aunts and uncles, cousins, and of couse, my amazing grandmom. I have a kind, caring, generous family, and I couldn't be prouder of them.
I'm thankful for friends, old and new. My writer friends are an incredibly supportive and super-fun bunch, and I love them all.
I'm thankful for my critique partner (and occasional writing partner) Veronica Forand. This year, we achieved our dream of becoming published authors, and we did it together. A very cool experience with a very good friend. I'm thankful for Kate Forest, who has become another critique partner, and very good friend. Road trips with the two of them are so much fun! I'm thankful for my Romance Weekly buddies - talk about an amazing support network!
I'm thankful to my publishers for taking a chance on my books. I'm thankful for my agent for the same reason. Plus, I love that she's so nice. :-) I'm thankful to my editors and everyone involved in publishing a book. I'm thankful for the learning experience!
I'm thankful for my readers. Knowing that people like my books makes me smile so hard. I'm so very grateful for them.
When I think of the more basic things - I'm thankful for a place to live, food to eat, clean water, heat, and electricity.
I'm thankful for sunsets, sleeping late on weekends, football games , hockey games, late night chats with my BFF, early morning solitude which centers me, romance novels from fabulous authors, coffee flavored with cinnamon, not being expected to cook every night, running trails, helpful people who have allowed me see the best in the world, difficult people and situations which allowed me the opportunity to react with grace, my fantasy football team clinching a playoff berth, clear nights filled with starry skies, wool sweaters, coconut-scented sunscreen, and countless other things and moments, little and big, which fill my days, make me happy, or make me reflect on the bigger picture.
A recipe for happiness: Count your blessings and live each day with a grateful heart.
Some years, life throws curve balls, and sorrowful, stressful, or scary experiences overshadow the positive things, but I hope that each one of you has a Happy Thanksgiving filled with many, many reasons to give thanks.
Misha Jenkins is up next. Follow along and check out her thankfulness.
