This week's Romance Writer's Weekly prompt comes from Xio Axelrod.
A Day in the Life: What do you do when you’re not writing?
Gemma Brocato was the previous stop. Her new release, Cooking Up Love, is available now.
When I'm not writing, I'm a voiceover artist and audio producer. I've recorded corporate training materials, children's stories, and various other commercials, tutorials and explainer videos for company websites. I love my job and the best part about it is working with my husband. I'm so proud of him for his drive and creativity.
My job calls for a flexible schedule, projects can and do come in at any time of day, so I work everything else around it.
Editing voice files can sometimes take longer than the actual recording. If I edit something Superhero voiced, he'll usually throw in a few random comments and asides to make me laugh. I really enjoy the projects I receive and have learned a lot along the way.
Whether or not I'm behind the computer or in the recording booth, the rest of my day isn't divided up in any particular order. Necessity dictates cooking and cleaning, and I fit those in where I can, and no matter how busy I am, I try to always make time for working out.
On fair weather days, I like to get outside as early as possible and go for a run. But considering the late nights I've been keeping, early really isn't early... I love running, but am not hardcore enough to be upset if someone calls me a jogger. I'm totally fine with the jogger label :-)
A little time unplugged, off the grid, is very refreshing. Working out, whether it's running or yoga, centers me. I like to change it up, and try to do something different every day.
So, I mentioned that I keep late hours. And I do. But after spending years in jobs that I didn't enjoy, I feel incredibly lucky to finally be doing not just one, but two things I love (both the author career and the voiceover career), and I wouldn't change a thing. Except maybe invest in a backup coffee maker to keep me going. :-)

So, what do you do when not working, or when you have some free time?
