Autism Blog Hop

April 13, 2017

I'm so happy to take part in RJ Scott's Autism Blog Hop.

To start things off, did you know that over 70 million individuals world-wide have autism? Per the CDC, there is often nothing about how people with ASD (autism spectrum disorder) look that sets them apart from other people, but people with ASD may communicate, interact, behave, and learn in ways that are different from most other people. The learning, thinking, and problem-solving abilities of people with ASD can range from gifted to severely challenged. Some people with ASD need a lot of help in their daily lives; others need less.

This year's blog hop theme is animals. There are a few organizations, such as Canine Companions for Independence, that offer pet therapy for people with autism.

I love dogs but can't have one right now, so I get my fix by giving them to my characters. :-)

In fact, I'd love your help naming a white terrier that will appear in an upcoming hockey novella. She belongs to the heroine, who works in player services for a hockey team and comes from a hockey family.

Here she is:

Anyone who leaves a comment with a name suggestion will have a chance to win an e-copy of one of my books. You'll also get a mention in the book's acknowledgments. So, please, help a girl out! :-)

Don't miss the other stops on this tour!! Thank you so much for visiting my page!

xoxo,

Susan
